Prof. Dr. Udo Dierk
Dr. Udo Dierk studied Mathematics and Physics at the University of Göttingen and made his PhD in Computer Science at the technical university of Braunschweig.
Dr. Dierk began his career with Scientific Data Processing Inc in Göttingen as a software developer. In 1980 he joined Nixdorf Computer AG where he was made responsible for the development of all communication products of Nixdorf. In 1987 he took up a post as Head of the Training Department with Nixdorf before joining Siemens Nixdorf in 1990 as the Vice President of vocational and further education. He held positions as Vice President, Training and Services Division and Vice President of Employee & Organisation Development before moving to Corporate Human Resources of Siemens AG in 1998. His role has since encompassed Recruiting, Sourcing and Management Learning; until end of March 2004 he was the Vice President of Management Learning for the Siemens Company worldwide.
In April 2004 he started his own consulting company ConEdu Consult. in 2006 he joined the Fachhochschule der Wirtschaft FHDW, a University of Applied Sciences in Paderborn/Germany, as a Professor for Leadership, Entrepreneurship and HR Management. He is head of the International Center for Management Learning ICML within FHDW and is the program director for the MBA program of the Paderborn Business School. In 2009 he and Prof. Phil Dover from Babson College founded the MEL-Institute.
Prof. Dierk serves a a member of the editorial board of the Journal “The Academy of Management Learning & Education” since 2004. He is a visiting Professor at the Shanghai Administration Institute and was a Guest Professor at Babson College and the University of Paderborn.
