This questionnaire/interview based process allows companies to determine the balance of managerial, entrepreneurial and leadership skills for sustaining innovation in an increasingly competitive environment.
We define the roles of managers, entrepreneurs and leaders — focusing on complexity, focusing on opportunity and focusing on change — and examine their impact on types of innovation (incremental, platform and breakthrough)
We have participants rate themselves, their peers and their company on manager, entrepreneur and leader scales and correlate the findings with a variety of performance and innovation criteria.
Findings from the MEL research are written-up into a series of case studies. Examples are provided in this section that both analyze results and offer presriptive guidance.
The participating company is a more than 200 year-old family-owned and family-run Germany-based supplier to the automotive industry with current customers in Germany, France, Spain, UK, Japan, USA and Brazil and production facilities in Germany, France, Spain, UK, Brazil and the USA.
